Where Is the One

Writer(s): E. Finckel / A. Wilder
From the album: Sinatra Rarities-The Columbia Years

Where is the one who’ll end the search I’m making
Where is the one who’ll change my dream to waking
Behind some far off secret door, there’s my love, there’s my life in store
The journey’s long, much longer than I reckoned in any throng
I’ll know her in a second, some lucky day, I’m bound to find her
And when I do, I’ll find you

Some lucky day, I’m bound to find her
And when I do, I’ll find love.

TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: I can figure no earthly reason why Frank sang “And when I do, I’ll find YOU” immediately before the instrumental break but, on the version on this CD at least, he clearly did! All the other references are in third-person but, in this one instance, he switched to second-person direct address.
